Digital Device Clock and Daylight Savings Time

Most Freeview Approved devices automatically adjust for Daylight Savings Time, so you typically don't need to do anything.

However, if you have manually changed the time settings on your TV, box, or recorder, or if you're using an older set-top box or recorder (like the Zinwell/DSE satellite receiver), you will need to adjust your clock for daylight savings manually.

Not updating your clock for daylight savings can cause issues such as:

  1. Program Timing Mismatch: The on-air times for TV programs may not match what's displayed in your program guide.
  2. Recording Problems: If you schedule a recording, it may not start at the correct time because your device's clock is not in sync.

To change the time settings on your TV, set-top box, or recorder, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the "Menu" (or "Settings") on your device.
  2. Navigate to "System Configuration" or a similar option.
  3. Choose "System Setting."
  4. Look for the "Time" option and select it.
  5. Change the "Summer" setting to either "ON" or "OFF" as appropriate for daylight savings time.
